News About the New School Year (7/25 School Messenger)

Aloha Lions Ohana,

It is almost time!  We are so excited to have everyone this school year ready to Strive Hi with PRIDE! It is going to be a busy year with a lot of changes.  So let me fill you in on some upcoming things that you need to be aware of.

  • School for grades 1-5 starts two weeks from today on August 8th.  Kindergarten starts one day later on rotation.  Please see the flyer for Kindergarten that has been sent out already.
  • Our A+ after school services spots are filling up fast!  Please go to https://www.ymcahonolulu.org/youth-programs/after-school-care  to sign up.  I HIGHLY recommend you do so well before school starts to make sure your child can go to A+ on day one of school.
  • As a reminder from our last announcement.  This year we were able to secure school supplies for all students.  All you need for them is a backpack!  This is a one year only deal, so be prepared for next year, but for this year we are saving you a few bucks.
  • Next week Thursday, August 3rd, at 12:00 is our Meet and Greet Open House for grades 1-5.  Please join us in the cafeteria for some important information and then meet your teacher in their classroom.
  • H1 construction has been delayed until at least January, so for now there will be no disruption to traffic flow.  I'll keep you posted for any updates on that as they come in.
  • Our school website, www.kwes.org has all of our key information and is kept updated as best as possible.  If you need any information or didn't catch everything in this message we keep all of it on our website.
  • We are looking for part time workers to help out our children in two shifts, from 8-11 or from 11-2.  No experience needed.  Please come to the office for details.
  • We are also looking for clubs, organizations, and coaches for after school activities that are associated with the school.  We are especially looking for dance, football, baseball, and basketball coaches.  If you are interested or know anyone/group who might be, please contact us at the office at 808-832-3210.

Although we have a lot more going on I don't want to flood this message.  I will keep you posted when news comes along.  If you have any questions please feel free to call us at 832-3210.  We are looking forward to this year together as we Strive with PRIDE.  That's the Lion way.  We do this because, We are the Lions. We are the Future!

Aloha,

Mr. Larkin

Very Respectfully,
