Campus Safety: Video Surveillance in Operation
To enhance the safety and security of everyone on campus, our facilities are equipped with video surveillance cameras. These cameras monitor public spaces like parking areas, walkways, and building entry points, where there is no expectation of personal privacy.
All video footage is automatically erased after ten (10) days unless an incident recorded involves a legal violation or a breach of Chapter 8-19, Hawaii Administrative Rules ("Student Misconduct, Discipline, School Searches and Seizures, Reporting Offenses, Police Interviews and Arrests, and Restitution for Vandalism and Negligence"), which would then require extended retention for investigation.
